The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took another dimension on Tuesday, as Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, accused PDP Hierarchy of stopping funds meant for Abia and Benue state states.
The governor alleged that PDP leaders lobbied to stop the funds to punish Abia and Benue governors for supporting his (Wike) presidential aspiration during the PDP primaries.
The Rivers state governor, while praising Buhari for his magnanimity said, despite all the criticisms directed to the President, he (Buhari) has never stopped money that belongs to Rivers state or any opposition state.
Wike, who was a special guest at the Abia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu’s birthday celebration on Tuesday night however vowed to fight till end as he bragged that his enemies are yet to see anything.
He said: “Nigerians will hear why and how some people think some of us are not Nigerians, they think some of us are slaves. I will never be a slave to anybody. You people will see, it will clear your eye, you will know what we are telling you.
“Anybody that fights Abia state is not fighting the governor but the people. I will tell you how money meant for Abia state for development was stopped recently by those who think they own this country, by those who think Ikpeazu did not support them.
“They denied Abia and Benue state their money. Every state has gotten from the Central Bank, my state got. I told them Ikpeazu is a quiet man, a born-again Christian, but me I’m not.
“I’m just giving you a hint, you will hear soon, how people are wicked, they are not in the office yet and they fighting people, stopping state money. Even as we have criticised Buhari many times, he has never stopped our money any day.” Wike said.
