The Katsina Vocational Training Centre which was established by the late MD Yusuf twenty years ago, has trained women from the Local Government Areas of Katsina State facing armed banditry in various skills.
The training was conducted at the NYSC Orientation Camp along Mani Road in Katsina.

The women were subjected to intensive training for a period of one week from 29th August to 6th September.
Among the Islamic scholars that admonished the women was Sheik Ibrahim Iyal Gafai, the Imam of Nura Mangal Jumu’at Mosque who delivered a sermon on self-reliance and enterpreneurship in Islam.

Similarly, Malam Mahe Sabuwar Unguwa delivered a sermon on patience and reliance on Allah in any occupation one practices or any situation one finds himself.
Another Islamic scholar, Malam Aliyu Abdurrahim Shaiskawa lectured the trainees on various supplications from the Qur’an and prophetic Hadith while Sayyid Maje Halliru Yan Siliyu also admonished them on a wide range of issues that pertain to their day-to-day lives.
The lead trainer was Alhaji Aminu Tukur Unguwar Jaji who urged the trainees to utilize the skills their acquired to set up businesses in order to Becky self-employed.

The coordinator of Katsina Vicational Training Centre, Muhammad Danjuma Katsina said the center decided to select women from the frontline Local Government Areas in view of the hardships they face as a result of armed banditry and kidnapping in their areas.
He said the center received support from two individuals who are Alhaji Sani Aliyu Danlami who paid for the accommodation of the facilitators of the training.
Malam Danjuma Katsina disclosed that the state Accountant General, Alhaji Malik Anas sponsored the feeding of the training facilitators with three square meals per day while the center sponsored the training sessions.

The coordinator of the center said the center will organize a graduation ceremony for the trainees on Thursday 29th September, 2022, where the trainees will be given business capital and take-off kits.
