The administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and governor Aminu Bello Masari were described as governments that aimed toward eradicating poverty and lifting the lives of the lower class and vulnerable persons.The chairman of Safana Local government area in Katsina state Alhaji Muhammad Kabir Umar made the remark during the distribution of start-up capital of 4 million naira to 200 beneficiaries to enhance their small and medium businesses in the 10 words of the LGA. The According to him each beneficiary would receive 20,000 naira cash assuring that the gesture would be a continuous one in every month. Alhaji Muhammad Kabir Umar also stated that the poverty ratio in the area, state and country has reduced to the bare stminimum based on statistics through the empowerment of the vulnerable household.
He said in Safana Local government alone about 300 women and youths with NCE qualification and University graduates are benefiting from both N power S power programs respectively. He recalled that from 1914 to 2015 and from 2015 to date there had never been a government that alleviated poverty through various programmes except the ministry of Humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development introduced by the
Buhari administration. On his part the member. representing Safana Local government area in the state house of assembly, Alhaji Abduljalal Haruna Runka, applauded the initiative of the local government chairman for the start-up capital. Hon. appreciation Runka therefore expressed to the administration Muhammadu of President Buhari and governor Aminu Bello Masari for considering the plight of the lower class, the vulnerable and the disabled. In his remarks, the Yariman Katsina, District head of Safana, Alhaji Sada Rufa’l, expressed optimism that the kind gesture would assist beneficiaries to boast their small and medium businesses. Alhaji Sada Rufa’i appealed to the beneficiaries to make good utilization of the start-up capital. Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries Sa’adatu Abubakar and Huraira Muhammad thanked the state government and Safana Local government for the start-up capital and pledged to utilize the assistance judiciously.
