Do you know that as soon as the Buhari administration came on board in 2015, it approved a number of modular oil refineries to be constructed in some parts of the country, especially in the Niger Delta region, and the one approved to be built in Edo State has now been completed and is set to be commissioned in December 2021?
The development of modular refineries is part of the partnership between the federal government and the Organized Private Sector (OPS) to fashion out solutions to the issue of importation of petroleum products through the refining of crude oil within the country in order to meet our local consumption demands, and the Edo modular refinery has come at the right time to help in that regard.
Therefore, as these refineries are commissioned, more employment opportunities will be created for our teeming able-bodied youths and there will be an increase of petroleum products available for local consumption, which will significantly reduce our reliance on importation, and which will consequently stabilise the economy by channeling the funds that could have been used for importation to other pressing local needs.
Yes, Nigeria is on track!
