The State Focal Persons of the National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP) has unanimously endorsed Hon Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir as the new Chairman of NSIP Focal Persons Forum.

The new Chairman succeeded Hon Bala Usman Chamo who stepped down after being elected as the Executive Chairman of Dutse Local Government Area as well as the ALGON Chairman of Jigawa State.

Hon Abdulakadir Mamman Nasir is a seasoned politician, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives as well as a former Chairman of Malumfashi local government area of Katsina State. He is currently a Special Adviser to the Katsina state government as well as the State Focal Person on the NSIP. A 1989 graduate of Agricultural Mechanisation of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) will now now chair the body of Focal Persons from the 36 States and FCT.

While delivering his acceptance address, Hon Abdulakadir Mamman Nasir assured the members of using all availables resources to ensure more gains are recorded and effective delivery of poor and vulnerable targeted interventions under the Nasional Social Investment Programmes.

He further cited that the programmes will be geared and repositioned towards achieving the objectives of Mr President in lifting out 100 million people out of poverty through the use of the social safety-net interventions and within their responsibility in ensuring effective implementation of the Social Investment Programmes of the Federal Government in their respective States.
