KTS Governor Aminu Bello Masari has inspected the ongoing major drainages project in katsina metropolis.
The project being carried out under katsina township Storm water & drainage management handled by the state office of the Nigeria Erosion & water shed management,NEWMAP,was intended to save katsina town from flooding
GovernorAminu Masari was conducted round the project by the NEWMAP Project coordinator, Engineer Ashiru Muhammad, the director Ecological ministry of environment, Abubakar Muhd Gege and the representatives of the construction firm among others
The state governor who took time to inspect the drainage work now covered about 900 metres expressed satisfaction with the quality of work so far done
He how ever emphasised the need for the contractor to maintain standard as contained in the agreement
Alh Aminu masari also directed for planting trees on cleared portions left by the sides of the drainage
This he said is to guard against possible re claim by some people already paid compensation for the lands
The governor also directed that all drainages coming from the sorrounding houses are connected to the ongoing major drainages to ensure total safety.
Govt house correspondent reports that the five metre wide drainage project which started from behind Eid prayer ground at Kofar guga, passed through tudun Yan lihidda,Yammawa to link up with another one from kofar Sauri main bridge,& seven others to drain the entire water collected in the township.
The project consultant Engineer David whisike who briefed the governor on the position of the project,said that the company is adhering to standard in carrying out the work
He said the project is being carried out in accordance with the laid down agreement Representative of the construction firm also assured of standard project #MASK
