A Funtua based Company in Katsina state, NAK International Merchant has dragged a Lawyer, Barrister Mahdi Sa’idu to court over alleged cheating, forgery and impersonation.

The Funtua based lawyer was dragged before Katsina chief Magistrate court 1 presided by Hadiza Danja.

The prosecuting counsel, told the court that the alleged crime committed by the suspect is punishable under section 324,323,364and 368 of Penal code law.

After listening to argument from both the prosecuting and defence counsels, the presiding Magistrate rule that the defence counsel should be furnished with all the evidence gathered against the accused.

Danja similarly adjourned the case to 31st January for resume hearing on the case.

The plaintiff had earlier filed a criminal complain against the lawyer over alleged forgery of the company’s letter headed paper.

They also alleged that after forging the letter headed paper he allegedly use it to fraudulently withdraw from a case they hired him to prosecute on their behalf.

In the alleged forged letter the lawyer allegedly presented himself as the company secretary.
