INSECURITY: SUSPECTED TRANSFORMER THIEVES, FLOUTERS OF SECURITY ORDER ARRESTED IN KATSINA

Police Patrol team attached to Kankara division have arrested seventeen (17) suspects for violating the Katsina State Security Challenges Containment Order.
Those arrested include Aminu Ibrahim, aged 30 yrs of Sheme Village Faskari LGA a driver conveying passengers in a Sharon Red in color through the banned Sheme-Kankara road, one Isiyaku Umar aged 40yrs of Kofar Fada Kankara selling tickets at the suspended Yar’goje Market.
Others include: Suleiman Ali, Yusuf Mu’azu, Yakubu Muhammad, Imrana Abdullahi, Adamu Ibrahim, Fahad Isah, Muntari Yusuf and Umar Ibrahim.
The rest are Awwalu Ibrahim, Rabi’u Kabiru, Tasi’u Isah, Masa’udu Tukur, Sirajo Isah and Muntari Ibrahim.
The command’s spokesperson told newsmen through a press statement that, the suspects have confessed to have committed the offence and will be charged to court for prosecution.
Meanwhile, the command had on Monday 6/09/2921 arrestedthe duo of Umar Sabi’u aged 24yrs of Filin Canada Quarters, Katsina and Ibrahim Sabi’u aged 17 of Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters for vandalizing a transformer at Birji Village, Kaita LGA and stealing away some cable wires. However, one Muhammad Muttaka is now at large.
In the same vein, the command said, on the 30/08/2021 at about 2099hrs, one Shafi’u Hassan, a staff of power holding company of Nigeria ( PHCN) reported at Dandume Divisional Police Headquarters that, electric cables connecting Arewa feeder transformer in Dandume measuring about 450 metres, valued six hundred and sixteen thousand Naira ( N616,000.00) were vandalized.
According to the release, suspected thieves in connection to the offence have been arrested.
Meanwhile, officers of the 17 Brigade Army Headquarters, Natsinta Barracks, while on patrol along Yan’Tumaki to Danmusa Road arrested the duo of Isiya Abdullahi aged 40 yrs of Yan’Tumaki, Usman Mamman aged 30yrs of Dan Ali Village, Danmusa LGA while conveying two (2) drums of diesel inside a motor vehicle, Golf III wagon, green in color with registration number VA 417 KJA, suspected to be a supply to bandits in the bush.
