The federal government in collaboration with development partners is set to launch Information, Education and Communication,IEC tools for monitoring its national deworming campaign under the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, NHGSFP.
This exercise is to ensure pupils have required nutritional intake in terms of improved diet,disease prevention,and will be administered medicines with Praziquantel, PZQ tablets across the country.
It noted the strategy to ensure that there is a healthy diet for over nine million primary 10 million pupils drawn from 54,619 schools who are currently benefiting from the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, NHGSFP.
While addressing participants during a five-day,stakeholders workshop on Monday held in Nasarawa State by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs Disaster, Management Social Development in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health.
Dr. Bindir who was represented by the Deputy Director, Planning Research and Statistics, Mrs. Safiya Sani said, “The National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme is one of the Federal Government’s National Social Investment Programmes aimed at providing one free rich nutrient meal every school day to primary 1-3 in public primary schools.
