Resist vote buying, inducements, Katsina women journalists urge electorate

The Katsina State chapter of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has urged the electorate especially women to defy all modes of inducements and exercise their civic responsibility according to their conscience as the country go to the polls for to elect leaders who will pilot the affairs of the nation for next four years.
A press statement signed by the NAWOJ Chairperson, Hannatu Mohammed, said the call became imperative in view of the determination of the association to ensure free, fair and credible elections.
The statement said, “NAWOJ is calling on all stakeholders in the election process to avoid gender bias especially to the women contestants and also call on women to vote for women in order to be well represented.”
The statement also urged security agencies and political parties to ensure violence-free polls.
