KATSINA APC GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE TO CONSTRUCT MODERN MARKET IN BAKORI
Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, the APC Katsina State Gubernatorial Candidate says he will construct a modern market in Bakori if elected governor.
He disclosed this during a campaign rally in Bakori town while addressing a tumultuous crowd of supporters that trooped out to receive him.
Dr. Radda described Bakori people as business oriented and predominantly farmers.
Bakori is one of the agrarian areas in Katsina State. It is not only the food basket of the state, but among those in the country. In addition, it has one of the largest agro markets where hundreds of trucks of farm produce are exported to all parts of the country twice each week on market days.
Dr. Radda’s plan of boosting the state economy will definitely make an impact if he constructs a modern market in Bakori. His policy document has a plan to use micro-finance banks in the state to give soft loans to medium, small and micro enterprises.
The APC candidate has also promised to establish a ministry or department of medium, small and micro enterprises to provide jobs for women and youths.
He also promised to engage the youths in the area by training them and attaching them to security agents to fight insecurity. Dr. Radda, similarly, promised to re-introduce extension services to boost agriculture. Other areas he promised to improve upon included education and healthcare delivery.
Dr. Radda and his entourage visited all the eleven wards in Bakori Local Government Area to acquaint himself with their problems with a view to solving them.
He was accompanied during the tour by his running mate, Faruk Lawal Joɓe, the APC Katsina State Chairman, Sani Daura, his deputy, Bala Abu Musawa, the Director-General, Katsina State APC Campaign Council, Arch. Ahmed Musa Ɗangiwa, the Commissioner of Water Resources, Musa Adamu Funtua, that of Environment, Hamza Sule, other contestants and many other important dignitaries.
