The House of Representatives on Wednesday called for a thorough investigation into the killing of a Lagos female lawyer, the late Bolanle Raheem.
She was shot dead on December 25 by an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Drambi Vandi, in the Ajah area of the state.
The member representing Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, Rep. Ibrahim Obanikoro, who moved a motion of urgent public importance, also urged the House to resolve that all those connected with the killing be prosecuted.
The session was presided over by the Speaker, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila.
His prayers, which were supported by the House, contained a prohibition on police officers on official duty from consuming alcohol.
The House also said a similar killing earlier in the month of one Gafaru Buraimoh in the same Ajah area should be investigated.
Lawmakers observed a minute’s silence in honour of Raheem and Buraimoh.
