Hajj 2023: Over 10,000 people apply for 230 space National Medical Team – NAHCON Chairman

The Chairman/CEO of NAHCON Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan disclosed today that over 10,000 applications were received from medical personnel willing to be part of the Nigeria Medical team for the 2023 hajj exercise.

Alh Alhaji Zikrullah congratulated successful members for being part of those selected and enjoined them to consider their selection as a trust reposed on them by the Almighty, whose favour they are beneficiaries of.

The Chairman also cautioned the members of NMT to respect the guidelines and regulations of the host country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who does not tolerate infractions.

In the same vein, Prince Sheikh Suleman Momoh, Commissioner Planning, Research, Information, Statistics and Library Services (PRISLS) who doubles as the Chairman of the Medical Team, disclosed that the selection of the members followed a transparent ballot system under the supervision of 12 members. He, therefore, emphasized that any member who would not comply strictly with the terms and conditions of engagement was invited to honourably decline the offer. Sheikh Momoh informed that once they sign the acceptance letter, they would be expected to work as stipulated. Sheikh Momoh explained that NAHCON considers the health care of pilgrims cardinal in its operations.
