The coalition of civil society groups in Katsina has called on the panel of enquiry set by the governing council of the Ummaru Musa Yar’adua University to suspend the embattled Vice chancellor of the school following allegations of misconduct against him.
Recall that, Professor Sanusi Mamman ( the embattled Vice chancellor of the University) found his name in dirty water for alleged illicit affair with a female student.
In a press statement signed by the chairman of the coalition AbdurRahman Abdullahi, the group explained that, for justice and fairness to prevail in the ongoing investigation against the VC, his position shall be forfeited.
According to the group, continuous occupation of the VC’s position may cause alterations, fabrications, inaccessibility to implicating documents and may also create fear of victimization in people who may be required to give testimonies.
It further called for the suspension of all contentious recruitments made by the VC and that, another panel should be constituted to look in to staff victimization, unlawful postings of staff and the issue of promotion.
