BRIGADIER GENERAL MOHAMMED YERIMA TAKES OVER AS DIRECTOR ARMY PUBLIC RELATIONS
A new Director has been appointed for the Directorate of Army Public Relations. He is Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, who until his appointment, was the Deputy Director Reserve at the Defence Headquarters Abuja. He takes over from Brigadier General Sagir Musa who has been redeployed to Nigerian Army Training Centre (NATRAC).
Speaking during the handing and taking over ceremony held at the Army Headquarters, Abuja, today, Brigadier General Yerima thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Major General Ibrahim Attahiru for finding him worthy to be appointed the Army spokesman. He noted that the period of Information Communication Technology (ICT) has made it easier for speedy dissemination of information to the general public.
Brigadier General Yerima pledged to evolve measures and potent ways that would improve and strengthen the already existing relationship between the Nigerian Army and the media with a view to consolidate on the gains in the ongoing war against insurgency and terrorism in the country.
In his valedictory speech, the outgone Director, Brigadier General Sagir Musa congratulated Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima on his well deserved appointment and wished him a successful tour of duty.
The event which witnessed the signing of handing and taking over notes, presentation of Directorate of Army Public Relations (DAPR) flag to new Director and his subsequent decoration with Directorate’s insignia.
