A popular lawyer, Barrister Bello Idris Galadi has stated that swearing with the Holy Qur’an, especially in Zamfara State is an abuse of the Qur’an.
Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle had sworn by the Holy Qur’an that he was not aiding banditry and challenged every political heavyweight in the State to come forward and do the same.
Speaking with DAILY POST in an exclusive interview, the lawyer recalled that at the height of misunderstanding between the Zamfara State House of Assembly and two of its members who were later suspended, the members swore by the Quran that they were not aiding banditry.
“At the inauguration of his cabinet members few days ago, the Governor subjected his Commissions to swear by the Holy Quran that they were not aiding banditry.
“I am personally in support of the government in taking any measure within the spirit of the law to stop the bloodshed in Zamfara State. But my concern is the incessant swearing by the Holy Quran by politicians in Zamfara State at the slightest provocation.
