ARREST/BUSTING OF A NOTORIOUS SYNDICATE OF ARMED ROBBERS THAT SPECIALIZES IN THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLES: On 17/12/2020 at about 18:00hrs, based on credible intelligence, DPO GRA Police Division, raided criminal hideouts and succeeded in smashing a notorious syndicate of armed robbers terrorizing Katsina and recovery of two stolen motor vehicles. Thirteen suspected armed robbers were arrested and confessed to have participated in several offences in the state. They are:

Mubarak Surajo, m, aged 23yrs of Kwado Quarters, Katsina
Musa Usman, m, aged 22yrs of Sabon Titin Kwado, Katsina
Jamilu Sani, m, aged 22yrs of Jibia LGA of Katsina state
Abduljalal Balarabe, m, aged 28yrs of the same address

In the course of investigation suspects confessed to the commission of several cases of house breaking and theft, armed robbery and theft of motor vehicles in the state. Two Mercedes Benz, C230, dark and blue in colour, one laptop computer, fourteen (14) different types of GSM Handset, three bed sheets, one blanket, four pillows, one centre carpet, one head rest, and the sum of twenty-one thousand naira (N21,000:00K) were recovered in their possession during police search.
BUSTING OF NOTORIOUS SYNDICATE OF THIEVES THAT SPECIALIZES IN STEALING OF MOTOR VEHICLES IN KATSINA: On 5/12/2020 at about 17:00hrs, the Command succeeded in smashing a syndicate of thieves and receivers of motor vehicles terrorizing Katsina and its environs. Nemesis caught up with one Muhammed Garba, m, aged 37yrs, of Rijiyar Lemo Quarters, Katsina who conspired with one Surajo Mai’Akuya (now at large) and stole a motor vehicle Corolla L.E., white in colour with registration No. BS 428 KWM, valued seven hundred thousand naira, (N700,000:00K). While on their way to Kano state with the stolen vehicle, a good Samaritan who knows the owner of the vehicle saw them with the vehicle at Bichi LGA of Kano state. He raised alarm and one of the suspect Muhammed Garba was accosted while trying to escape and Surajo Mai’Akuya zoomed up with the vehicle, but later abandoned it along the road and escaped to unknown destination. In the course of investigation, one Hayatu Bishir, ‘M’, aged 33yrs of Masanawa Quarters, Katsina and Lawal Abdullahi, ‘M’, aged 43yrs, Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters, Katsina were arrested as accomplices in the commission of the crime. Suspect confessed to have stolen and received several stolen vehicles in Katsina and its environs. Investigation is ongoing.
ARREST OF NOTORIOUS INDIAN HEMP DELEARS AND RECOVERY OF FIFTY-ONE (51) CAREFULLY SEALED LOAVES OF DRIED LEAVES REASONABLY SUSPECTED TO BE INDIAN HEMP: On 12/12/2020 at about 11:30hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting the duo of one Yahaya Ibrahim, ‘M’, aged 21yrs of Rafin Dadi Quarters, Katsina and Salahuddeen Hamisu, ‘M’, aged 18yrs of Tayoyi Quarters, Katsina, notorious Indian hemp dealers and recovered fifty-one carefully sealed loaves of dried leaves reasonably suspected to be Indian hemp. In the course of investigation suspect confessed to the commission of the offence.
